It has been hard to get away from the health care debate, everywhere you look one of the main topics of discussion has been health care. After a year of talking, the bill has finally been passed into law. On Tuesday, the bill was signed and on Thursday final changes were made using reconciliation.
In January, efforts looked vain after Republican Senator Scott Brown won a spot in the Senate representing Massachusetts. Brown’s victory changed the democratic filibuster proof majority, leading Americans to believe that passage of the health care bill was far off. President Obama was tireless though and continued to travel across the nation and preach the need for reform.
When it’s all said and done, the reform still has its proponents and opponents, but only time will be able to tell the true effect the new law will have on the nation.
