Baucus is weighing changes to insurance reform

October 6, 2009

Senator Max Baucus, the Montana Democrat and chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, is pulling together last minute changes to the reform package to insure its affordability. In his words, it is an effect to reach a “global solution” to affordability concerns.

The main concern of the public with the bill right now is that it will force individuals to get health insurance that they cannot afford. Senator Maria Cantwell, Senator Charles E. Schumer, Senator Olympia J. Snowe have all presented possible solutions to the affordability dilemma but nothing has been chosen just yet.

“There’s an effort to solve people’s problems,” said Senator John D. Rockefeller IV, Democrat of West Virginia, who has been a critic of the bill. “How far that’ll go, we’ll see.”
