What’s up ladies and gents,
I just came across an article that I didn’t find very settling. CBS did a study and found out that 1 out of ever 25 deaths worldwide are somehow related to alcohol. That puts alcohol up there with smoking!
The way they did the study is they measured the amount of units each country consumed per week. Each unit resembled 10ml of pure ethanol, which is equivalent to a beer, glass of wine, or a shot.
What’s really scary is that the study is based off a compilation of statistics from all over the world but some countries don’t consume much alcohol. It was reported that Mediterranean countries only drink 1.3 units of pure ethanol. North Americans, on the other hand, drink 18 and Europeans drink 22!
Be careful people, it might be time to rethink how much we drink a week. If 1 out of 25 die worldwide, that number has to be much higher in the US!
